What is it all about?
Each year, Korean American physicians, trainees, and medical students from across the U.S. convene to participate in the scholarly exchange of medical advances and to share experiences through networking opportunities. The 2025 KAMA Scientific Convention in Washington, D.C. will be an exciting opportunity to connect and network with many colleagues to strengthen relationships across medical communities. The theme of this year’s KAMA convention “Sustainability in Healthcare” reflects the meeting’s focus on the remarkable achievements across clinical practice, research and industry and the continuous quality improvement that drives the advancements that shape the face of medicine today.

Paul I. Chang
MDDr. Paul Chang, MD, is an attending physician with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group, trained at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. A second-generation Korean-American, he balances his medical career with family life as a proud parent of three.

Edwin Choy
MD, PhDEdwin Choy grew up in California, went to college at Yale, and went to medical school at NYU, where he was graduated in 2000 with an MD PhD. He is now Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School and the Program Director of Sarcoma Oncology at the Mass General Cancer Center.

Hyung Chun
MDDr. Hyung Chun, is a board-certified cardiologist and physician-scientist who has held leadership roles at Yale and contributed extensively to cardiovascular research. He has published in top journals, received numerous national honors, and continues to care for patients with cardiovascular disease.

Youngwu Kim
MDDr. Youngwu Kim, MD, is a urogynecologist at Massachusetts General Hospital specializing in pelvic floor disorders and gender-affirming surgery. She focuses on minimally invasive techniques and conducts research on surgical outcomes and the vaginal and bladder microbiomes.

Rebekah Kim
MDDr. Rebekah Kim, MD, is a board-certified colon and rectal surgeon in Northern Virginia with expertise in minimally invasive surgery and a passion for serving the Korean-American and global communities. She mentors surgical trainees locally and abroad through her work with the UVA Inova Campus and the Pan African Academy of Christian Surgeons.

Jamie Ku
MDDr. Jamie A. Ku, MD, is a board-certified head and neck surgeon at Cleveland Clinic with expertise in treating tumors and complex reconstruction using minimally invasive techniques. She directs the Head and Neck Robotic Surgery Program and trained at institutions including Duke, Johns Hopkins, and MD Anderson.

David Kwon
MDDr. David Kwon, MD, is a liver transplant and HPB surgeon who pioneered laparoscopic donor surgery programs in Korea and the U.S. He currently leads HPB Surgery at Cleveland Clinic and has performed over 1000 liver transplants and resections.

Deborah Kwon
MDIn 2010, Dr. Kwon completed her Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship, having achieved the highest level of proficiency in multimodality imaging, including cardiac MRI, cardiac CT, and echocardiography.

Linda Lee
MDDr. Linda Lee, MD, is a leading expert in advanced endoscopic procedures and pancreatic diseases, with over 100 publications and a solo-edited textbook on ERCP and EUS. She serves as Medical Director of Endoscopy at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Editor-in-Chief of iGIE, and co-founder of NEWEndo.

Minna K. Lee
MDMinna Lee graduated cum laude from Princeton University and received her MD from the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, where she was honored with the Allen O. Whipple Award for excellence in surgery.

Tanna Lim
MDDr. Lim has been involved with medical education for nearly 20 years in the Atlanta area, beginning his career as a PGY-4 chief resident before working briefly as a hospitalist.

Paul Y. Song
MDPaul Y. Song, MD, is currently Chairman and CEO of NKGen Biotech. His most recent clinical role was as Assistant Professor at the Samuel Oschin Cancer Center at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. In 2013, he served as the very first visiting fellow on healthcare policy in the California Department of Insurance.
