President's Letter
Dear KAMA members,
I am excited to serve as the president of KAMA for the year of 2025. This is an honor and duty that I embrace with the utmost priority this year. My sincere gratitude goes out to the past presidents and leaderships of KAMA who have not only navigated the organization with masterful execution of strategy during challenging several years, but also inspired the incoming servant leaders by demonstrating exemplary stewardship.
Our organization hosted one of the most memorable scientific conventions last year in Seoul. The success of last year’s convention carries several heartfelt consequences – rejuvenated commitment to our mission and members and deepening our ties with Korean medical communities to name a few. Last year’s meeting will surely serve as the seminal moment where our organization ignites bigger aspirations and engages bolder agenda. This year’s executive committee recognizes that It is incumbent upon us to seize this opportunity to make this organization even more relevant and valuable to the Korean American medical community.
This year, the KAMA board of governor welcomes a new chairman. After three years of steady and faithful leadership by Dr. Chester Koh, Dr. John Yun, who has served KAMA for over two decades, is chosen as the chairman of the board. Under the leadership of Dr. Yun and KAMA board members, we will work to gain more membership by increasing our visibility and providing value-added service. Your input and feedback as valued members will be essential.
Lastly, this year’s executive committee has begun the preparation for the 2025 annual scientific convention. This year’s convention will be held in Washington DC in October. This is rather fitting, given Washington DC is where KAMA took its first breath of life. As we look forward to the next 50 years, I cannot think of a place more appropriate to hold our 51 st Scientific Convention.
The executive committee and I appreciate the trust that was placed on us. We understand the immensity of the work ahead and are ready to commence with excitement and vigor. We humbly ask for your support as we promise to keep you posted of our progress.
